A survey of 60,000 dog owners found that Alfie is the most popular name in the UK.  Many other dogs were named after foods, pop stars or were inspired by TV and film shows.  Alfie is a normal name compared to what some people call their children!  We won't embarrass any celebrities by naming and shaming them but don't they ever consider the future ridicule of their child?  A Welsh mother was recently banned from calling her daughter Cyanide while French courts have vetoed names such as Prince William, Strawberry and Nutella, and New Zealand judges stopped a couple from calling their twins Fish and Chips.  Dogs will never suffer embarrassment from an absurd name so we would say: if you fancy something weird give it to the canine not the human!
