Most owners know that chocolate can prove deadly for dogs thanks to its toxic component of thebromine which is a bit like caffeine.   But of course offering a dog an Easter egg is not the same as the enterprising hound finding one for himself!  So this is just a reminder to ensure that the children's eggs are well out of reach of the dog - and also that, much as he might enjoy it, he should not join in the Easter egg hunt!
