Blue Cross con? Print E-mail
Wednesday, 16 September 2015 08:03

The Blue Cross has been inundated with callers wanting to adopt Baxter, the shaggy apparently homeless dog that wanders the streets to the tune of Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive.  But Baxter is not a stray.  Instead he is a highly polished actor with several film and TV credits to his name!  When asked why they didn't use a real stray, the charity says they didn't want to stress out any of their dogs.  But surely they could have found one dog that would have enjoyed the limelight?  If you watch a commercial for, say a cancer charity, you assume that the person portrayed is a genuine sufferer rather than an actor.  Shouldn't the same apply to a dog?
