Disposable dogs Print E-mail
Tuesday, 04 August 2015 13:19

It has long been the case that people have bought dogs because they are fashionable at the time.  For example, once it was Dalmatians thanks to the film 101 Dalmatians. Now it is Siberian huskies that are the flavour of the month because of TV shows like Game of Thrones.  Sadly after a while, a worrying number of owners realise that the dog is totally unsuitable for their needs and lifestyle leading to a rise in cruelty cases and packed-out rescue centres.  We are encouraged to throw away household items like washing machines and vacuum cleaners when they are no longer are fit for purpose - all too often, it seems people think that dogs too are disposable....

PS Following the horrendously early death of Beau, I have been inundated with emails and cards and still they come in as the word spreads. I am deeply touched and grateful - thank you.
